Job Title: Department of Trauma & Burn Surgery 1.0 FTE Nurse Practitioner Position

Description: We are looking for a Full Time Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in Washington, DC for a combination inpatient & outpatient position with the Trauma and Burn Surgery Service. Inpatient care of the medically complex polytrauma and burn population with a focus on managing multidisciplinary teams and consults. Inpatient burn coverage consists of care coordination, consultation and burn care in the PICU, Surgical Floor, Emergency Department, and Operating Room. Our outpatient Burn Clinic is managed by Nurse Practitioner with surgeons on-call for surgical discussions and planning. We offer administrative time for program and career development.
  • A minimum 2 years of full-time pediatric critical care, ED or complex care (ex: Solid Organ or Bone Marrow Transplant) nursing experience prior to starting a clinical nursing masterís program.
  • Competent in the delivery of high acuity nursing care (e.g., ECMO, CRRT, continuous infusions, mechanical ventilation, 1:1 or 2:1 nursing assignments)
  • Skilled in high level complex medical communication
  • Experience in coordination of care of the complex patient
