Welcome to the PTS Newsletter!
We are in an exciting period of evolution as an organization. Through the hard work of our members, we have become a nationally recognized voice for the injured child. We have been using this voice to advocate for our patients and implement practices that influence their care, on our own and in collaboration with other organizations that share our vision. Our expanding membership and the productive output have been and will be divers of our success...

I attended the EAST guidelines committee meeting and more collaboration, as well as GRADE education, is planned for this year and beyond. The PTS Guidelines Committee will work this year to forge and strength ties to other societies with the goal of becoming the guidelines hub for pediatric trauma, similar to the role EAST plays on the adult side. First conference call of the New Year will be held in February! More

The Washington State Department of Health EMS and Trauma Steering Committee has developed several evidence-based trauma clinical practice guidelines. All trauma centers are welcome to use or adapt these as they see fit. The Pediatric Guidelines are often embedded within the general guidelines, but trauma programs, especially joint trauma programs, may find them useful. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
