The first full year of the PTS is coming to a close, and it's been notable. We have worked hard to develop from scratch the bones of a global medical organization to serve those who focus on our vital, but under recognized niche in the world of health care.

Thank you to all who voted in the 2012 Board of Directors elections. We are pleased to welcome two new members to our Board in 2013.

Co-Chairs: Matthew Borgman, MD
Rita Burke, PhD, MPH

The Research Committee has made great progress in 2012 and has an active agenda planned for 2013. The goals of the Research Committee were in part, informed by results of a survey that the Research Committee sent out in April 2012 requesting feedback from members.

Over the last year the leaders of PTS have been working to create a Society that will meet the needs of those who provide care to injured children. The leadership felt it was time our website matched the enthusiasm of our volunteers and we are pleased to announce our new website will be launched in the next few of week leading up to 2013.

Take the Poll:
Does your institution have a designated Trauma Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (TPNP) that participates in the trauma resuscitation in the trauma bay?

Trauma centers strive to provide optimal trauma care. The PTS is assembling clinical resources that you may find helpful. We will continue to update these resources as we receive them from members.

International Pediatric Simulation Society Liaison
The Pediatric Trauma Society is looking for a member who has a focus in simulation to serve as a liaison between the PTS and the International Pediatric Simulation Society. The liaison will serve for a period of 12 months and will help develop bonds between the two organizations in areas of mutual interest.

Please contact PTS if you are interested.
