Trauma Program Manager, Pediatric
This is a (1.0) FTE Unclassified Administrative position. Schedule will be Monday - Friday. Salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is located on the Marquam Hill campus with Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Portland, Or. The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager provides evidence-based leadership for patient and organizational outcomes to assure OHSU fulfills all requirements as a Pediatric Level I Trauma Center for the State of Oregon, as verified by the American College of Surgeons. The Program Manager assures interdisciplinary collaboration among staff, leadership and provider colleagues to optimize care and the work environment. The Program Manager participates in the collaborative decision-making process and the provision of safe, quality, compassionate and efficient care for pediatric trauma patients.
The Program Manager’s decisions and actions are based on ethical principles as outlined by the American Nurses Association. The Program Manager practices in adherence with the American Nurses Association’s (ANA) Nursing Administration: Scope and Standards of Practice for Nurse Administrators, the ANA Code of Ethics, the Oregon State Board of Nursing’s Practice Act, and within the context of the Nurse Executive Competencies developed by the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). The Program Manager exemplifies the principles of the OHSU Culture of Safety Position Statement by committing to a Just Culture, a Reporting Culture, a Learning Culture, and an Engaged Informed Culture.
- Master's Degree (nursing preferred or other related field) earned or in progress.
- 5 years relevant clinical/leadership nursing experience in Trauma or Emergency Nursing.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork (demonstrated ability to build team and integrate existing teams), and experience in complex organization environments.
- Eligible for faculty appointment with the School of Nursing.
- Unencumbered Oregon RN License.
- BLS, TNCC or ATCN.
- Experience as a trauma coordinator.
- CPEN, CPN, or Pediatric CCRN.
